During our Grade School years, we usually have this activity we called show and tell. This we do every Friday of the week and we get the chance to bring whatever it is that we would like to show to the class. We were fourth graders then and I can still remember vividly one of my classmates bringing to class her test paper with a huge 100% marked on the upper right hand corner. The paper even has a very bright red star on it.
Her story? Every time she get a test result with her paper scribbled with 100% on it her dad will buy the paper. I was like, wow! That’s like major SME (small and medium enterprises)! Imagine just going to school, having fun and at the end of the day once you go home with a paper with a 100% on it, you get to scrape in money.
So I made a plan to talk with my dad and ask him the same thing. I gathered all my work for the entire week to show it to him. No such luck. All I got was a pat on the head. When I pushed back for money polo shirts , my dad just looked at me squarely in the eye and said, “You want money? Alright, let’s make a deal. I’ll take away your allowance and you’ll work for it with every test paper you bring home with a perfect score. Deal?” I backed out. My dad is a cheapskate.
At the end of the period though when I showed him my report card, he was so impressed with my grades that he bought me a new pair of shoes. Not really the expensive ones, just the kind that comes with coloured card box but hey, I was just a kid and whatever new item I receive, I feel ecstatic. So I kept on showing my dad my report card not just to impress him but with high hopes that I will get something new again. But no, I guess that treat was just for one time. I still have that card box until now, I used it as containers for odds and ends.
Life when your just a kid is pretty easy and sometimes I catch myself longing for those days. Truth be told, I still envy that girl in class. I wonder if she’s now a successful entrepreneur. I could probably take up some learning from her.

Have you ever heard the Movie Lion king? Well, I think anyone who has watch Disney movie would not miss it. Most especially children really like to watch it over and over again for they will surely jump into joy and dance into the beat. They are so very excited when someone; just for example their parents mentioned the phrase “We will watch Lion king!” Every child would really stop playing and run as fast as they can cheap coach purses , to the sofa and focus their mind with the movie that they are watching. That’s how the Movie Lion King is very addicting. But have you ever heard the Broadway Lion King? I think it’s a kind of very interesting and unfamiliar. Now let’s have a little overview about the Broadway Lion King.
First, let’s talk about the story. It all started when a lion cub’s journey to adulthood and acceptance of his royal destiny. He was Simba, an honored prince of his father named King Mufasa. But this all wealthy and happy life begun to vanish when his father was killed by his wicked uncle named Scar a selfish person and who thinks he should be the rightful King. After the tragic incident, Scar drives Simba away from the kingdom. Sumba begun to live on his own but luckily he found two buddies on her way these are: Pumbaa the warthog and Timon the meerkat. Their journey was really a joyful and priceless experience because they have different attitudes that would really stir up your mind and forced your mouth to laugh. On her adulthood, however, he is visited by the spirit of his father, who instructs him to defeat the nefarious Scar and reclaim his rightful throne.
Second, the production., The Lion King is a musical based on the 1994 Disney animated film of the same name with music by Elton John and lyrics by Tim Rice along with the musical score created by Hans Zimmer with choral arrangements by Lebo M. Directed by Julie Taymor, the musical features actors in animal costumes as well as giant, hollow puppets. The show is produced by Disney Theatrical. After the success of the Broadway show, the show was produced in the United Kingdom in 1999 by Harrison Lochtenberg, and continues to play at the Lyceum Theatre in London. Taymor led the British production of the show, with Melissa De Melo as the producer. The London Production recently celebrated its 10th anniversary in the West End.

Anyone who has watched the show says that they were like watching a show in a jungle. They were really amazing because it was like that you can feel the warm breeze of the sun. With those fantastic costumes you can really determined it was a full blast production. In speaking of costumes, they really put their ideas a figured out some collaboration that would really fit on the presentation. If you would like to imagined how difficult it is to create a costume from a character that is not humans but animals and will be used by a real human on stage. That’s how delicate it is to form a production with such different genre and that’s the reason why it is “Once watched, always wanted”.
